Will I have to see the needle at any point?
No. We give you oral pre-medication first so you are already relaxed before the IV is placed. Most patients have no memory of the IV at all.
What is the oral pre-medication and is it safe?
It is a safe sedative taken by mouth before your appointment. It helps you feel calm before we begin. Your anesthesiologist will determine the appropriate dose based on your medical history.
Is IV sedation the same as general anesthesia?
Both are available. Your anesthesiologist will recommend the appropriate level based on your medical history. Both eliminate awareness and discomfort during the procedure.
Do I need someone to drive me home?
